Ingredients
12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup reserved pasta water (if needed)
2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta – Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of pasta water.
- Brown the Beef – In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Sauté Onion and Garlic – Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until soft. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Prepare the Sauce – Pour in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add Cream and Cheese – Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Add half of the shredded mozzarella and mix until melted. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water.
- Combine with Pasta – Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until evenly coated. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- Melt the Cheese – Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top, cover the skillet, and let it sit until melted. Optionally, broil for a golden finish.
- Garnish and Serve – Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot. Enjoy!
