Ingredients

12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup tomato sauce

1/2 cup heavy cream

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/4 cup reserved pasta water (if needed)

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta – Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/4 cup of pasta water.
  2. Brown the Beef – In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease if needed.
  3. Sauté Onion and Garlic – Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until soft. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Prepare the Sauce – Pour in the tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Add Cream and Cheese – Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream. Add half of the shredded mozzarella and mix until melted. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water.
  6. Combine with Pasta – Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until evenly coated. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. Melt the Cheese – Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella on top, cover the skillet, and let it sit until melted. Optionally, broil for a golden finish.
  8. Garnish and Serve – Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot. Enjoy!
