Ingredients

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tsp lemon juice (optional)

12 egg roll wrappers

1 egg, beaten

Oil for frying

Powdered sugar for dusting

Optional: berry sauce for dipping


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice until smooth.
  2. Place about 2 tbsp of filling in the center of each wrapper.
  3. Fold bottom over filling, tuck in sides, and roll tightly. Seal edge with beaten egg.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a skillet.
  5. Fry rolls in batches, 2-3 minutes per side, until golden.
  6. Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar.
