Ingredients
226 grams jumbo lump crab meat
113 grams cream cheese (softened)
120 ml heavy cream
1 cup sharp white cheddar, shredded
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 small shallot, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
1 tablespoon butter (for sautéing)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Melt butter in a saucepan and sauté the chopped shallot and garlic until translucent.
2. Add the softened cream cheese and stir until it begins to melt.
3. Slowly whisk in the heavy cream until smooth and creamy.
4. Stir in the shredded cheddar and Parmesan until the sauce is fully melted and velvety.
5. Gently fold in the crab meat and Old Bay seasoning, being careful not to break up the lumps.
6. Spoon the mixture into ramekins or a baking dish and top with more cheese.
7. Broil for 3–5 minutes until the top is bubbling and golden.
8. Garnish with chives and serve hot.
Notes
For extra depth, add a splash of white wine when cooking the aromatics.
Use freshly shredded cheese for the smoothest melt and richest flavor.
