Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

1 bag (32 ounces) frozen tater tots

0.5 teaspoon salt

0.25 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce


Instructions

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned.

2. Add diced onion and minced garlic, cook until softened. Drain excess fat.

3. Stir in cream of mushroom soup and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Simmer the mixture for 2–3 minutes until well combined.

5. Spread the beef mixture evenly in a 9×13 inch baking dish.

6. Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the beef mixture.

7. Arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer over the cheese.

8. Top with the remaining 1 cup of cheddar cheese.

9. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35–40 minutes until tots are crispy and cheese is bubbly.

10. Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil the casserole for the last 3–4 minutes.

You can swap in ground turkey or chicken to lighten it up.
