Whether you’re looking for a quick dessert idea, cozy holiday baking, or a sweet treat to make ahead, these are your go-to. They’re easy to make, kid-friendly, and perfect for cookie swaps, winter parties, or just a mid-week chocolate fix.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

0.5 teaspoon salt

24 pieces white chocolate chunks or truffles

1 cup powdered sugar, for rolling

Instructions

1. Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

2. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

4. Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture to form a thick dough.

5. Cover and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

6. Scoop about 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of dough, flatten slightly, place a white chocolate piece in the center, and roll into a ball.

7. Roll each dough ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.

8. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes until cracked and set.

9. Cool slightly before serving or storing.

Notes

Chilling the dough helps control spread and makes shaping easier.

Swap white chocolate for peppermint truffles or caramel centers for fun twists.
