Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, melted (for swirl)
1/2 cup brown sugar (for swirl)
1 tablespoon cinnamon (for swirl)
1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. Cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time.
3. Mix in sour cream, buttermilk, and vanilla until smooth.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Gradually add to wet mixture.
5. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the swirl.
6. Pour half the batter into the dish, spoon half the swirl on top, then repeat with remaining batter and swirl. Gently swirl with a knife.
7. Bake 35–40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
8. While cake cools slightly, whisk powdered sugar and milk for the glaze. Drizzle over warm cake.
Notes
For extra gooey swirls, add a little more butter and brown sugar to the cinnamon filling.
This cake tastes amazing warm, but also reheats beautifully in the microwave for a few seconds.
