Ingredients
8 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb Italian sausage
3 cups fresh spinach
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook bowtie pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water. Drain.
2. In a skillet, heat olive oil. Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage. Drain fat if necessary. Set aside.
3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 1 minute over medium heat.
4. Stir in heavy cream and simmer. Add parmesan and whisk until smooth and creamy.
5. Add spinach and cook until wilted. Return meat to skillet.
6. Stir in drained pasta and a splash of pasta water. Toss to coat evenly.
7. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Serve hot with extra parmesan.
Notes
Use freshly grated parmesan for the smoothest sauce texture.
Swap spinach for kale or arugula if preferred.
