Ingredients

12 oz penne pasta

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

5 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 cups whole milk (warm)

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt, to taste

Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)


Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne and cook until al dente. Drain and reserve ½ cup of the pasta water.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add olive oil.
