Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 small onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium head green cabbage, chopped

1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes

1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce

2 cups beef broth

3/4 cup uncooked long-grain rice

2 tablespoons brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


Instructions

1. Brown the ground beef and diced onion in a skillet over medium heat until the beef is fully cooked and the onion is soft. Drain excess grease.

2. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.

3. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.

4. Place the chopped cabbage in the crockpot.

5. Pour the beef and tomato mixture over the cabbage.

6. Add the uncooked rice and gently stir everything together.

7. Cover and cook on low for 5 to 6 hours, until the cabbage is tender and the rice is cooked through.

8. Let the casserole rest uncovered for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes
