Perfect for special occasions or just a luxurious treat at home, this easy recipe delivers bakery-level results with simple ingredients. With crisp outer shells, smooth chocolate ganache, and a melt-in-your-mouth finish, they’re everything a chocolate lover could dream of. Whether you’re looking for quick dessert ideas, holiday cookies, or indulgent food ideas to impress, this recipe hits all the right notes for your next sweet creation.

Ingredients

100 grams almond flour

100 grams powdered sugar

10 grams Dutch-processed cocoa powder

75 grams egg whites (room temperature)

65 grams granulated sugar

1 pinch salt

100 grams dark chocolate (finely chopped)

100 grams heavy cream

15 grams unsalted butter (optional)

Instructions

1. Sift together almond flour, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder to ensure a lump-free mix.

2. Whip egg whites and salt until foamy, then gradually add granulated sugar. Beat until stiff, glossy peaks form.

3. Fold dry ingredients into the meringue. Mix until batter flows like lava and forms ribbons.

4. Pipe 1-inch rounds onto a lined baking sheet. Tap the tray to release air bubbles.

5. Rest macarons for 30–60 minutes until a skin forms.

6. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 14–16 minutes until shells have feet and lift cleanly.

7. Heat heavy cream until simmering. Pour over chopped chocolate and let sit for a minute. Stir until smooth.

8. Optional: stir in butter for extra creaminess. Let ganache cool slightly.

9. Pair similar-sized shells and pipe ganache onto one. Sandwich together.

10. Chill macarons in an airtight container for at least 24 hours before serving.

Notes

Use a kitchen scale for precision—macaron baking requires accuracy for best results.

Aging egg whites for 24–48 hours can help create more stable meringue.
