Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

Salt and black pepper, to taste

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp Italian seasoning

2 tbsp olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups marinara sauce

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or fresh mozzarella slices)

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish


Instructions

  1. Pat chicken breasts dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear the chicken for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds. Add marinara sauce and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
