Description

Craving that crispy, sticky, takeout-style sesame chicken without the delivery wait? This Easy Sesame Chicken recipe brings the sweet-savory flavor bomb right to your kitchen. Bite-sized chicken pieces are fried until golden and tossed in a glossy sesame garlic sauce that hits all the right notes. Perfect for quick dinners, Asian-inspired meals, or food ideas when you’re short on time but not on flavor. Whether you’re after a new easy dinner or weeknight go-to, this dish satisfies cravings fast. It’s a healthy snack alternative when air-fried or a comfort classic when deep-fried—whatever your vibe, it’s a winner.

Ingredients

1.5 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces

0.5 cup cornstarch

0.25 cup soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated

0.25 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons rice vinegar

1 tablespoon sesame oil

2 tablespoons sesame seeds

2 green onions, sliced

0.5 cup vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

1. Cut chicken into bite-sized chunks and lightly season with salt. Toss in cornstarch until coated.

2. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry chicken in batches until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.

3. In a saucepan, combine soy sauce, garlic, ginger, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

4. Place fried chicken in a bowl, pour sauce over top, and toss to coat.

5. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispy chicken, let the coated pieces sit for 10 minutes before frying.

Use an air fryer for a lighter version—just spray with oil and cook at 400°F for 12–15 minutes.
