Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

0.5 teaspoon salt

0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

0.75 cup milk

0.5 cup red and green holiday sprinkles

1 cup powdered sugar

1 to 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk

2 tablespoons additional sprinkles for topping

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set aside.

2. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

5. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Stir until just combined.

6. Gently fold in the sprinkles, being careful not to overmix.

7. Pour the batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top.

8. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

9. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

10. Mix powdered sugar with 1 to 2 tablespoons of cream or milk to make glaze. Drizzle over cooled bread and top with sprinkles.

Notes

Use room temperature butter for the best creaming results.

Let the loaf cool completely before glazing to prevent the icing from melting.
