Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup vanilla frosting

1/4 cup holiday sprinkles

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Beat in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

6. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan.

7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until edges are golden and center is just set.

8. Let cool completely in the pan.

9. Spread vanilla frosting evenly over the cooled bars.

10. Decorate with red and green sprinkles, slice, and serve!

Notes

For an extra festive twist, swap vanilla extract with almond extract.

Don’t overbake! Bars should look slightly soft in the center when removed from the oven.
