Ingredients

3.5 cups bread flour or all-purpose flour

1 cup whole milk, warm

0.25 cup warm water

0.25 cup granulated sugar

0.25 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

2.25 teaspoons active dry yeast

1.5 teaspoons salt

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, for brushing


Instructions

1. Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a small bowl and let sit until foamy, 5-10 minutes.

2. In a large bowl, mix the yeast mixture with warm milk, melted butter, egg, and salt.

3. Gradually add flour and stir until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms.
