Ingredients

2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 ½ cups granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cotton candy flavoring

Pink gel food coloring (as needed)

Blue gel food coloring (as needed)

Purple gel food coloring (as needed)

2 tablespoons white sanding sugar or nonpareils


Instructions

1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

2. In a large mixing bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

3. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla and cotton candy flavoring.

4. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.

5. Divide dough into three portions and color each with pink, blue, or purple gel coloring.

6. Take small pieces of each dough, press together, and roll into balls. Flatten slightly.

7. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet and top with sanding sugar.

8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes until just set.

9. Let cool on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.

Notes
