Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

3 ½ teaspoons baking powder

1 tablespoon sugar

¼ teaspoon salt

1 ¼ cups milk

1 large egg

3 tablespoons melted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Let the batter rest for 5 minutes to allow the baking powder to activate.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
