Ingredients

115g unsalted butter

150g granulated sugar

50g brown sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

65g all-purpose flour

40g unsweetened cocoa powder

0.5 teaspoon salt

100g chopped dark chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.

2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Remove from heat and stir in granulated and brown sugar.

3. Let cool slightly, then whisk in eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.

4. In a separate bowl, sift flour, cocoa powder, and salt together.

5. Combine dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just incorporated.

6. Fold in the chopped chocolate or chocolate chips.

7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

8. Bake for 28–32 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.

9. Let cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

For an extra gooey center, bake toward the lower end of the suggested time.

You can freeze sliced brownies in a zip bag for up to 2 months.
