Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
4 cups thinly sliced potatoes

2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream (or milk)
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
2 tbsp butter
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink.
2. Add chopped onions and garlic; cook until softened and fragrant.
3. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme. Drain excess fat.
4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
5. Thinly slice potatoes using a mandoline or sharp knife.
6. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the dish.
7. Add half of the beef mixture on top. Repeat with remaining potatoes and beef.
8. Pour cream or milk evenly over the casserole.
9. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
10. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
11. Remove foil and bake for another 15–20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
12. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
