Ingredients
4 to 5 pound prime rib roast
2 tablespoons kosher salt

2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions
1. Remove the prime rib roast from the refrigerator about 2 hours before cooking so it can lose some of its chill. Pat it dry very well with paper towels.
2. Rub the roast all over with the kosher salt and black pepper, making sure every side is evenly seasoned.
3. In a small bowl, mix the minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, olive oil, softened butter, onion powder, and crushed red pepper flakes until it forms a thick herb paste.
