Ingredients

1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts

1 cup cornstarch

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 egg

1/3 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

2 cloves garlic minced

1 tsp ginger grated

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tsp sesame oil

1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds

2 tbsp green onions chopped

Vegetable oil for frying


Instructions

1. Dice the chicken into bite-sized pieces.

2. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, and a pinch of salt.

3. Beat the egg in a separate bowl.

4. Dip chicken in egg, then dredge in the flour mixture.

5. Heat oil in a deep skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

6. Fry chicken in batches until golden and cooked through.

7. Drain on paper towels.

8. In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, vinegar, and sesame oil.

9. Simmer the sauce until slightly thickened.

10. Toss fried chicken in sauce to coat.

11. Simmer 1–2 more minutes.

12. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onion.

Notes

For extra crispiness, double-fry the chicken pieces.
