Description

Craving a cozy, comforting dessert you can hold in your hand? These Individual Apple Hand Pies with Glaze are the answer! They’re golden, buttery, and filled with a warmly spiced apple filling that tastes like fall in every bite. Perfect for a quick breakfast idea, a holiday dessert table, or an easy recipe to impress guests, these mini pies come together in no time thanks to store-bought crust. A simple glaze drizzled over the top makes them irresistibly pretty and delicious. Great for all ages, and perfect for picnics, brunches, or on-the-go snacks.

Ingredients

1 package refrigerated pie crusts

2 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1 egg

1 tablespoon water

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a bowl, mix diced apples, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cornstarch. Set aside.

3. Roll out pie crusts and cut into circles using a cookie cutter or glass.

4. Spoon filling onto half the circles, top with remaining circles, and crimp edges with a fork.

5. Cut a small slit on top of each pie to vent.

6. Whisk egg and water to make an egg wash, and brush it over each pie.

7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.

8. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make glaze and drizzle over warm pies.

9. Let the glaze set before serving.

10. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days or refrigerate for up to 5 days.

Notes

Use tart apples like Granny Smith to balance the sweetness of the glaze.

Don’t overfill the pies—just a tablespoon of filling is perfect to prevent leaking.
