Description

Lazy Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars are the kind of easy dessert that makes me wonder why I would ever scoop individual cookies when I can get the same buttery, chewy, chocolate-packed flavor in one simple pan. These soft cookie bars are perfect for a quick dessert, easy snack, bake sale treat, lunchbox sweet, or casual party dessert. If you need easy recipe ideas, dessert bar recipes, chocolate chip desserts, or quick homemade treats that feel cozy and crowd-pleasing, this one delivers every time with minimal effort and maximum reward.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it well.

2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.

3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then whisk until fully combined.

4. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined.

5. Fold in 1 3/4 cups of the chocolate chips.

6. Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.

7. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup chocolate chips over the top.

8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is just set.

9. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.

Notes

Do not overbake the bars if you want a soft and chewy center. Pull them out when the middle is just set.

Let the bars cool fully before slicing so they hold their shape and stay moist inside.
