Ingredients

1 lb frozen ravioli (cheese-filled or your preferred variety)

1 lb ground beef (or ground turkey/chicken)

2 cups marinara sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup ricotta cheese

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, chopped

1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic and cook until softened, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up as it cooks. Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. Pour in marinara sauce, stir to combine, and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom.
  6. Layer frozen ravioli over the sauce, then spread ricotta cheese over the ravioli. Add shredded mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  7. Repeat layers with remaining sauce, ravioli, ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
  8. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  9. Let the casserole rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
