Ingredients

1 sheet puff pastry

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)

⅓ cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon milk


Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Unfold the thawed puff pastry and cut into 3×3 inch squares.

3. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.

4. Place 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center of each square.

5. Fold corners slightly inward or leave open-faced.

6. Brush pastry edges with the beaten egg for shine.

7. Bake for 15–18 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.

8. Let cool slightly on a wire rack.

9. Combine powdered sugar and milk for glaze, then drizzle over cooled danish.
