Ingredients
1 loaf brioche or challah bread, sliced or cubed
1 cup Nutella
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Powdered sugar, for garnish
Melted chocolate or extra Nutella, for drizzle (optional)
Fresh strawberries, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Lightly grease a baking dish and arrange half of the bread slices or cubes in a single layer.
- Spread Nutella over the bread layer, then top with the remaining bread.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread, pressing down lightly to help it absorb.
- Let it sit for at least 30 minutes or cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown and set.
- Let it cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and drizzling with melted chocolate or extra Nutella.
