Ingredients
1 lb beef steak (sirloin or flank), thinly sliced
2 tablespoons soy sauce (for marinade)
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for searing)
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
2 tablespoons soy sauce (for sauce)
1/2 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for stir-frying)
Instructions
1. Slice the beef thinly against the grain. In a bowl, toss with soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
2. In a separate bowl, mix soy sauce, beef broth, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. Set aside.
3. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a skillet over high heat. Sear beef in batches until browned but not fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
4. Add another tablespoon of oil to the pan. Stir-fry bell peppers for 3–4 minutes until crisp-tender.
5. Return beef to the pan, pour in the sauce, and stir everything together. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
6. Finish with a drizzle of sesame oil before serving.
