Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 cups broccoli florets

3 tbsp unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 ½ cups heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

1 tbsp olive oil

Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish

Extra Parmesan, for serving

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook fettuccine until al dente, adding broccoli in the last 2 minutes of cooking. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat. Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream. Let it simmer gently for 3–4 minutes, stirring often.
  5. Whisk in Parmesan cheese. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir until smooth.
  6. Add the cooked pasta, broccoli, and shrimp back into the skillet. Toss to combine and heat through.
  7. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan and fresh herbs.
