Ingredients

3 to 4 pounds beef chuck roast

1 tablespoon olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup beef broth

1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening sauce)

Fresh parsley or thyme for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Pat the chuck roast dry and sear on all sides in olive oil over medium-high heat until browned.
  2. In a bowl, mix balsamic vinegar, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, honey, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper.
