Description
This steak marinade is the kind of easy recipe I come back to when I want a quick dinner that still feels bold, juicy, and full of steakhouse flavor. It combines olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire, garlic, balsamic vinegar, and a touch of brown sugar to create tender, flavorful steak with a beautifully caramelized crust. Whether you need easy dinner ideas for weeknights, summer grilling food ideas, or a satisfying beef recipe for a special meal, this marinade delivers big flavor with very little effort.
Ingredients
1/3 cup olive oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and balsamic vinegar until well combined.
2. Add the brown sugar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, black pepper, smoked paprika, parsley, and red pepper flakes. Whisk again until the sugar is mostly dissolved.
3. Pat 2 to 2 1/2 pounds steak dry with paper towels and place it in a zip-top bag or shallow dish.
4. Pour the marinade over the steak and turn to coat all sides evenly.
5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours for deeper flavor.
6. Remove the steak from the refrigerator 20 to 30 minutes before cooking.
7. Take the steak out of the marinade, letting the excess drip off, then cook on a hot grill or skillet to your preferred doneness.
8. Rest the steak for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For the best texture, do not marinate delicate steaks too long because too much acid can soften the surface too much.
Always let the steak rest after cooking so the juices redistribute and the meat stays tender.
