Ingredients

1 cup light corn syrup

1 cup brown sugar

3 large eggs

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon salt

1 ½ cups pecan halves

1 deep-dish 9-inch pie crust (unbaked)

Instructions

1. Place your unbaked deep-dish pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and crimp or flute the edges. Set aside.

2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.

3. Stir in chopped pecans (optional), then pour the mixture into the prepared crust. Arrange whole pecan halves on top.

4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 50 to 60 minutes, until the center is just set. Cover crust edges if they brown too quickly.

5. Let the pie cool for at least 2 hours before slicing to allow the filling to fully set.

Notes

To elevate flavor, toast your pecans lightly before mixing in.

Let the pie cool completely before slicing or it may not set properly.
