Description

Baked Salmon with Sweet Chili Sauce is the kind of easy dinner that feels exciting the moment it comes out of the oven. The salmon turns tender, flaky, and juicy, while the sweet chili glaze bakes into a glossy, lightly sticky finish with just the right balance of sweetness and gentle heat. It is a perfect easy recipe for busy weeknights, a quick dinner for seafood lovers, and one of those food ideas that works just as well for a healthy snack plate, light lunch, or simple dinner ideas when you want bold flavor without a long prep.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds salmon fillet

1/2 cup sweet chili sauce

1 tablespoon soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet or baking dish with foil or parchment paper.

2. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and place it on the prepared pan.

3. In a small bowl, whisk together the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, garlic, lime juice, and olive oil.

4. Season the salmon with salt and black pepper.

5. Spoon or brush the sweet chili mixture evenly over the salmon, reserving a little for later if desired.

6. Bake for 12 to 16 minutes, depending on the thickness of the salmon, until it flakes easily with a fork.

7. Brush with the remaining glaze during the last few minutes of baking for extra shine and flavor.

8. Remove from the oven, rest for 2 minutes, then sprinkle with fresh basil or parsley before serving.

Notes

Do not overbake the salmon or it can dry out quickly, so start checking at the 12-minute mark.

For even more flavor, let the salmon sit with the glaze on it for 10 minutes before baking.
