Description

Cinnamon Brown Sugar Waffles are the kind of breakfast that makes an ordinary morning feel warm, cozy, and worth slowing down for. They bake up golden and crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy in the middle, and full of rich cinnamon flavor with a deep brown sugar sweetness. This easy recipe is perfect for a quick breakfast, weekend brunch, holiday breakfast ideas, or whenever you need simple food ideas that still feel special. Serve them with butter, maple syrup, whipped cream, or fresh fruit for an easy breakfast everyone will remember.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs

1 3/4 cups milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it if needed.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.

4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined. Do not overmix.

5. Scoop the batter into the hot waffle iron, using enough to fill the grid without overflowing.

6. Cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp, according to your waffle maker’s timing.

7. Serve warm with butter, maple syrup, powdered sugar, whipped cream, or fresh fruit.

Notes

Do not overmix the batter or the waffles can turn dense instead of light and fluffy.

For the crispiest texture, place cooked waffles on a wire rack in a warm oven while you finish the rest.
