This Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake is the kind of easy dessert that disappears fast at any gathering. It starts with a soft vanilla cake, gets soaked with sweet creamy goodness, then finished with a buttery cinnamon filling and smooth cream cheese frosting. It tastes like a cinnamon roll and a poke cake came together to make the ultimate easy breakfast treat, brunch recipe, holiday dessert, and crowd-pleasing sweet bake. If you are looking for easy recipe ideas, cake recipes, dessert ideas, or comforting food ideas, this one is always a hit.

Ingredients

15.25 ounces yellow cake mix

3 large eggs

1 cup water

1/2 cup vegetable oil

14 ounces sweetened condensed milk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup light brown sugar

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. In a large bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil until smooth.

3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 28 to 32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

4. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes, then use the handle of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the top.

5. Slowly pour the sweetened condensed milk over the cake, making sure it seeps into the holes.

6. In a medium bowl, stir together the melted butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

7. Spoon the cinnamon mixture over the cake and gently spread it so it settles into the holes and across the surface.

8. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth and creamy.

9. Spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the cooled cake.

10. Chill for at least 1 hour before slicing and serving for the best texture.

Notes

For the smoothest frosting, make sure the cream cheese is fully softened before mixing.

Chilling the cake helps the filling settle and gives you cleaner slices with better flavor in every bite.
