Homemade Crunch Wrap Supreme

  • Author: Lorenzo Devereaux
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 6 crunch wraps

Description

This Homemade Crunch Wrap Supreme is the kind of quick dinner that gets everyone excited before it even hits the table. It has seasoned ground beef, creamy nacho cheese, cool sour cream, crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and a crunchy tostada shell all wrapped inside a toasted flour tortilla. It is one of my favorite easy dinner ideas when I want comfort food, fast food flavor at home, simple weeknight meals, and crowd-pleasing food ideas all in one satisfying bite.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning

1/2 cup water

6 large flour tortillas

6 small flour tortillas or tortilla rounds

6 tostada shells

1 cup nacho cheese sauce

1 cup sour cream

2 cups shredded lettuce

1 cup diced tomatoes

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 tablespoon oil

Instructions

1. Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully browned, then drain excess grease.

2. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until the beef is well coated.

3. Warm the large flour tortillas briefly so they are soft and easy to fold.

4. Place seasoned beef in the center of each large tortilla, then spoon nacho cheese sauce over the top.

5. Add one tostada shell on top of the beef and cheese layer.

6. Spread sour cream over the tostada shell, then add shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese.

7. Place a small tortilla or tortilla round over the filling in the center.

8. Fold the edges of the large tortilla inward all around the filling until fully enclosed.

9. Heat a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat and place each wrap seam side down.

10. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.

11. Let the wraps rest for 1 minute, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

Warm the tortillas before folding so they stay soft and do not crack.

Do not overfill the wraps or they will be harder to close and toast evenly.
