Description

These Super Soft Loaded Easter Egg Bars are the kind of festive treat that instantly makes any dessert table look happier. Packed with chocolate chips and crunchy candy-coated mini eggs, they bake up thick, buttery, and perfectly tender with soft centers and lightly golden edges. This easy recipe is perfect for Easter dessert spreads, spring baking, party treats, cookie bar lovers, and anyone looking for fun food ideas, easy dessert bars, holiday baking inspiration, and simple homemade sweets everyone will want again.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 1/4 cups light brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 1/2 cups candy-coated mini chocolate eggs, lightly crushed or whole

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or grease it well.

2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and creamy.

3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.

4. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, then mix just until combined.

5. Fold in the chocolate chips and about 1 cup of the mini chocolate eggs.

6. Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.

7. Scatter the remaining mini eggs over the top and gently press them into the dough.

8. Bake for 24 to 28 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the center is just set.

9. Cool completely in the pan before slicing into bars.

Notes

Do not overbake the bars. Pull them from the oven as soon as the center looks set for the softest texture.

Let the bars cool fully before slicing so they hold their shape and stay thick and tender.
