  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 250 g fresh okra trimmed and cut
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 0.25 cup cornmeal or panko breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 teaspoon paprika
  • 0.25 teaspoon chili flakes adjust to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon or lime juice

Instructions

  • Wash and dry the okra thoroughly. Trim the ends and cut them into halves or bite-sized pieces.
  • Toss the okra with olive oil in a mixing bowl until lightly coated.
  • Add cornmeal or panko, paprika, chili flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to coat each piece evenly.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 3 minutes.
  • Arrange the okra in a single layer in the basket and cook for 10-12 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  • Once golden and crispy, squeeze fresh lemon or lime juice over the okra before serving.

Notes

For an extra-crispy coating, lightly spray the okra with cooking oil before air frying. Don’t overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if needed for maximum crunch.
