  • 1 loaf artisan bread
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced and caramelized
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted plus extra for caramelizing onions
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, chopped optional
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds optional

Instructions
 

  • Slice the loaf into thick pieces, leaving them attached at the bottom for a pull-apart effect.
  • Caramelize the onions in butter over medium-low heat for 15–20 minutes until golden and sweet.
  • Mix melted butter with minced garlic in a small bowl.
  • Spread caramelized onions between the slices, tuck in mozzarella and cheddar, and brush with garlic butter.
  • Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is golden.
  • Sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Best served warm. Reheat in the oven for 8–10 minutes to restore crispiness.
